The Out-of-Hours Service will help you if you become ill after your local GP surgery is closed and you need to contact a doctor or a specially trained nurse because of a serious medical need or an urgent healthcare problem.

If you need immediate and necessary treatment and cannot wait until your GP surgery is open, call the Out of Hours service direct on 111.

NHS 111 can also be called if you need health advice and information 24 hours a day - just dial 111.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
